How to reduce the risks associated with the hourglass procedure

Hi, this is Dr. Hourglass, and welcome to another video in our channel Superhourglass. Today we are going to discuss: How to reduce the risks associated with the hourglass procedures. In this channel, we will discuss everything you need to know for you to get the hourglass shape you’ve always wanted.
Welcome back! The hourglass surgery is an effective plastic surgery procedure that widens your hips and reduces your waist, with the goal to deliver you the hourglass body. The surgery involves the use of your body fat to enhance your hips. While it is less risky compared to other invasive plastic surgery procedures, the risks cannot be completely ruled out. During the pre-operative consultation with the surgeon, be sure to discuss the risks of the hourglass surgery. You should undergo the procedure only when the benefits are greater than the risks for you.
The risks of the hourglass procedure can be different for different patients. However, there are ways to reduce or prevent those risks to a major extent. The first thing you can do is to choose only a board-certified and experienced plastic surgeon to perform the operation. The surgeon must have extensive experience specifically in performing the hourglass procedure.
Secondly, you must share your complete health and medication information with the doctor during the pre-operative consultation. Depending on your health status, you may be exposed to more or fewer risks during and after the surgery. For example, if you have diabetes or heart disease, you may be exposed to higher risks. Also, if you are a smoker, the risks will be higher. Smoking affects the healing process and can result in blood clotting. You must stop smoking at least two weeks before the surgery and avoid it during the recovery process. Doing so will help reduce the risks.
There are also certain medicines, foods, and herbs that can create complications during and after the surgery. During the consultation, the plastic surgeon will advise you to avoid certain medicines and foods for some days before the surgery and during the recovery period. For example, you will be told to avoid using aspirin before the surgery and during the recovery.
During the recovery period, make sure to wear the compression garments. The garments are designed to prevent certain risks and enhance the healing process. Also, avoid physically strenuous activities during the recovery period. Sleeping on your back can damage the fat cells in your hips, which is why you must avoid sleeping on your back for two or three weeks after surgery.
During the pre-operative consultation, you must discuss your complete health and medication history with the plastic surgeon. There are certain health problems that can increase the risks for you. For example, if you have diabetes, heart disease, respiratory problems, or autoimmune disorder, the risks will be greater for you. To reduce the risks, be sure to tell your surgeon whatever health problems you have.
There are certain medications that can increase the risks for you. For example, if you are taking blood-thinning medications like aspirin, you will be at risk of bleeding during the surgery and the recovery period. To reduce this risk, you must stop taking such medications at least one week before the procedure. Furthermore, you must undergo surgery only after analyzing the risks against the benefits of the procedure and only when the benefits are greater than the risks.
After the surgery, you must wear the compression garments for the recommended period. The garments are specially designed to reduce many risks after the surgery, such as bleeding, infection, swelling, etc. Also, be sure to take any prescribed medications on time and according to the instructions. For example, the surgeon may prescribe antibiotics to decrease the risk of infection.
